Letters containing “unknown substance” sent to officials across 15 states.
The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and the U.S. Postal Inspection Service began investigating a number of suspicious packages sent to election officials in more than 15 states. The officials found “an unknown substance” in the packages and immediately reported the packages to the FBI. No one has been harmed by the substance, but officials are working to determine what the substance actually is.
“We are also working with our partners to determine how many letters were sent, the individual or individuals responsible for the letters, and the motive behind the letters,” FBI spokesperson Kristen Setera stated. “As this is an ongoing matter we will not be commenting further on the investigation, but the public can be assured safety is our top priority.”
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For USPS officials as they process and flag mail and packages.
- For FBI investigators as they seek the source of the powdered substances that were mailed to election officials.
